Increasing activity and participation in Nuneaton and Bedworth

Nuneaton 10K 2017

Sunday the 10th of September saw the inaugural Nuneaton 10K road race started at the front of Town Hall Nuneaton by the Mayor Councillor Bill Hancox.

Over 200 runners then ran 3 laps of Nuneaton town center and Riversley park finishing in the Nuneaton Harriers home Pingles stadium.

The winner with a clear lead was Leicester Coritanian Chris Jordan who ran an impressive 32.50, followed by a Badgers 2, 3 of Danny Warren and Ryan Bennett. First lady across the line was the Nuneaton Harriers own Elanor Fowler who came in at 37.21 with Nuneaton Harrier Kat Hodgson in 2nd with 39.37 and 3rd spot to Emily Woodfield of Tri-Anglia Triathlon Club in 42.03

The race was a nice mix of club runners and runners trying the distance for the 1st time, with many of the harriers 10 4 10K training group successfully completing the race. Competitors, spectators and volunteers alike have given overwhelming positive feedback for the race and it is hoped to be a regular feature in Nuneaton & Bedworth’s sporting calendar.
